Katie Austin

Katie Marie Austin, age 90, a resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her residence. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bishop. Mrs. Austin was born September 17, 1924 in Farmersville, Louisiana to Jurd Gray Osburn and Mary Williams Osburn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Austin Sr.; son, Harrell Austin; parents; two brothers, Billy Joe Osburn and Jurd Osburn Jr.; one sister, Robbie Spiegelhauer.
Mrs. Austin is survived by three sons, Buster Austin (Edith) of Clear Lake, Texas, Randy Austin (Brenda) of Bishop and Danny Austin (Kalynn) of Conroe, Texas; one sister, Darlene Shields of Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special family friend, Rigby Owen and family.
Visitation will take place from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Restland Cemetery, Bishop, with Rev. Clif Abshier officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christus Hospice of Corpus Christi, 6200 Saratoga Blvd., Suite 104, Corpus Christi, Texas 78414 or First Baptist Church, 311 East Fifth Street, Bishop, Texas 78343.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
