Kathryn Moore

Kathryn Lee Ora “Lodie” Moore passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021, at the age of 95.  She was born on January 27, 1926, in Austwell, Texas, to Monroe Elias Parker and Viola Elizabeth Mitchell. Lee Ora moved to Kingsville in the late 1950s; she was a cook at various restaurants in Kingsville.  Lee Ora was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Kingsville, Texas, since the early 1960s, and a lifelong avid reader, especially her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Sylvester Edwards, Jr., and by her second husband Willie A. Moore.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Viola Watson, of Kingsville, Texas; granddaughters Angela Smith, of Austin, Texas, and Michelle Smith, of Kingsville, Texas; a dear cousin Di’Anne Mitchell, of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and expressions of kindness.  A special thank you to Mr. Walter Hunter, who helped our mother/grandmother over the years.

We would like to share one of her favorite quotes that she shared with us again a few weeks ago: “Yesterday is a cancelled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have - so spend it wisely.”

In lieu of a memorial service, loved ones and friends can share memories of her at www.turcottepipermortuary.com
