Julia Yado Wade, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Christus Spohn Hospital in Kingsville. Julia was born March 28, 1934, in Kingsville where she lived a joyful and blessed childhood. Her parents, Hilario and Dolores Yado and her brothers Jacinto J. Guzman and Ruben Solis preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by the love of her life, Richard U. Wade, to whom she was married for 26 years.
Julia graduated from H.M. King High School in 1952 and attended Texas A&I University. She worked for many years as the office manager for Kingsville attorney, Lewis W. Maples. Later she started and ran her own real estate company, Happy Real Estate, where she worked with focused effort with the citizens of Kingsville and the surrounding areas. She retired from the real estate business in 2013.
Julia loved gardening, sewing, cooking, and excelled in crafting beautiful pieces of art as well as creative jewelry pieces. Additionally, Julia was an animal lover and enjoyed the company of many wonderful dogs during her lifetime.
At an early age, Julia professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Kingsville. She was an active member of El Buen Pastor where she headed numerous committees and served as the finance chair and church treasurer for 17 years. Julia was a kind Christian person who loved the Lord, and her influence will remain in the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Elida Guzman and Gloria M. Solis, and numerous nieces and nephews. She maintained a close relation with Richard’s family, including Janet Wade Cardinal in Indianapolis and Randy Wade in Michigan. She is also survived by her dearest friends, Anita Vera, Diana Zapata, and Laurie Cannon who were like family to her.
The family would like to thank the loving staff of Kingsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the medical staff at Christus Spohn Kleberg Hospital for the care and comfort they brought to Julia in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ARK, The Kleberg County Animal Rescue Organization.
The family will receive condolences beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, with a chapel service starting at 10:00 a.m. A rite of inurnment will follow after at Chamberlain Cemetery.
