Juan M. Vela, Jr.

Juan M. Vela, Jr., passed away on May 21, 2024, at the young age of 51.  He was a dedicated truck driver for 26 years who found joy in the open road and the freedom it provided. Juan's career was not just a job but a passion, as he took pride in his work and the responsibility that came with it.

Outside of work, Juan's true happiness came from spending quality time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Among the treasured memories shared were weekend BBQs where laughter and love filled the air. His presence brought warmth and comfort to those around him, creating a welcoming atmosphere wherever he went.

Known for his sense of humor, Juan was a jovial soul who had a knack for giving everyone he met a nickname. His friendly and outgoing nature meant that he never met a stranger; his genuine kindness touched the hearts of many.

In his leisure time, Juan enjoyed various hobbies that brought him immense joy. Whether it was fishing, strumming on his guitar to create melodies, or embarking on exhilarating motorcycle rides, he embraced life to the fullest. Additionally, his love for truck driving extended beyond work - from handling cattle for local ranches to cruising down the highways, Juan found solace in the journey itself.

Juan M. Vela, Jr.'s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him best - his cherished family and friends. While they mourn his loss, they will forever hold dear the memories of a loving father, grandfather, friend, and colleague whose legacy of laughter and kindness will endure through generations.

Rest in peace, Juan M. Vela, Jr., may your eternal journey be as fulfilling as the roads you once traveled with passion and dedication.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Enrique and Margarita Vela; and father, Juan M. Vela, Sr.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Balbina Vela; children, Matias Vela, Cassandra Diaz De Leon (Jose Alarcon), John Henry Vela, and Margarita Vela; brother, Javi Vela; grandchildren, Sofia, Jace, Payton, Allie, Bell Bell, and Madelyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; with a memorial rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Services will conclude that evening.
