Josie Hinojosa, 70, passed away on July 29, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on September 15, 1949 in Bishop, Texas to Luciano and Estefana Balboa. Josie Hinojosa was a Vice President for many years in Chicago, Illinois for the Metropolitan banking institutions. She enjoyed serving the Lord in various capacities at First Baptist Church of Kingsville, Texas. She was the face of the congregation, that lead visitors to come back because of the warmth and encouragement they received from Josie. As a servant leader, she ensured the food pantry was in order and never missed an opportunity to serve others. Josie was a ball of energy where the light of Christ shined in her heart and never missed a beat to pray for others.
Josie is survived by her husband, Rene Hinojosa of Kingsville, Texas; two daughters, Mitzi Navarro and Dina Navarro both of Chicago, Illinois; three sons, Michael Balboa (Wanda) of Chicago, Illinois, Frankie Navarro, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois, Rene Hinojosa, Jr. (Nicole) of Thawville, Illinois, and; two sisters, Delfina Cantu of San Antonio, Texas and Berta Navarro (Salvador) of Hammond, Indiana; three brothers, Carlos Balboa (Teresa) of Chicago, Illinois, Juan Balboa (Collette) of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Nick Balboa (Carmen) of Kingsville, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Josie Hinojosa is preceded in death by both her parents, Luciano and Estefana Balboa; her sisters, Mere B. Rosales (Rigoberto), Felicitas B. Vega, Isabella Villareal and brother Guadalupe Balboa.
Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Evangelico Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas 78363.
