Joshua Abraham Peterson, 24 of Corpus Christi Texas, past to his permanent residence on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Joshua was born on a Super Bowl Sunday, January 26, 1997. Joshua graduated from Tuloso-Midway high school in 2015 and had just recently been accepted to the Culinary Institute of America in San Antonio, Tx. He was a sous chef for South Texas Catering for the past 4 years, where his passion and talent flourished tremendously. Josh was not a very social person nevertheless he loved and protected his family to his last breath. He was a modern-day Dr. Dolittle; he would gather ducklings as a child and store them in his drawers so his mom would not find them. At times he would lay out in the driveway so that the neighborhood cats could sniff him and later win their trust and therefore have a yard full of cats; however, without a doubt his Huskies were his life.
Joshua was a beautiful soul; his smile brightened the room; he was always making others scream or laugh; he was kind and very generous. Joshua will always be remembered as a family clown, a loving son, brother, grandson, and nephew. We will miss his long explanations of movies, his lectures on physics, his laughter, and hugs.
He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Eugenia Tijerina; grandparents Maurice Gene & Rosa Maria Peterson; aunts, Margie Ann Rodriguez and Paula Chapa; and his godfather, Timoteo Trevino.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mary Jean “Jeana” Peterson; father, Lowell Kenneth Peterson (Kimberly); sisters, Julia Rae “Jewels” Peterson and Lydia Nicole Soliz; brother, Kenneth Lowell Peterson; maternal grandparents, Augustin and Puresa Rodriguez; uncles, Augustin Rodriguez Jr., Jose Luis Peterson (Raquel), and Arthur Joseph Peterson (Debera); aunts, Michelle Perez Cavazos and Laura Jean Keck; numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM; with a prayer service to begin at 3:00 PM. Services will conclude that evening.
