Jose De La Rosa, known affectionately as "Pepe", was born on June 10, 1936, in his beloved hometown of Kingsville, Texas. He lived a life full of dedication and service, starting with his education at Henrietta King and later enlisting in the United States Air Force. Jose flourished in his military career and proudly served until his well-deserved retirement back in Kingsville, where he continued to impact those around him with his unwavering commitment.
In addition to his remarkable career, Jose had a passion for simple joys. He found solace and joy in his daily walks, appreciating the beauty of nature. Working in the yard brought him a sense of peace and fulfillment, wherever he found himself. Above all, Jose cherished spending quality time with his family and friends, finding the greatest happiness in their company.
On May 26, 2024, Jose "Pepe" De La Rosa bid farewell to this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents Lionel and Josefa De La Rosa, as well as his brother Lionel De La Rosa Jr., and sisters Elena D Martinez, and Maria Luisa Alvarez.
Jose is survived by his loving sons Robert De La Rosa and Jose (Margaret) De La Rosa Jr., daughters Cindy Gruetzner and Susan (Kevin) Lafferty, along with 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who were the light of his life. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will fondly remember his kind spirit and warm presence.
