John Rivas

John I. Rivas, age 49, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas and a former resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 in Corpus Christi. He was born July 25, 1966 in Corpus Christi to Ismael Amador Rivas and Maria Guadalupe Cantu Rivas. John was a graduate of H.M. King High School. Mr. Rivas was a former employee of the Kingsville and Corpus Christi Wal-Mart, Corpus Christ and employed at both stores for 16 years. He was a member of El Shaddia Church, Corpus Christi.
Mr. Rivas was preceded in death by his father, Ismael Amador Rivas.
John is survived by his wife of five years of marriage, Delilah Balboa-Rivas of Corpus Christi; mother, Maria Guadalupe Cantu Hasette (Robert) of Kingsville; one daughter, Erica Lynn Schaefer (Russell) of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Belinda Marie Vela (Orlando) and Selina Ann Rivas, both of Kingsville; one granddaughter, Avary Rose Schaefer of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
