John Powers

John Kenneth Powers was born on January 5, 1946 at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio to John David and Leona Terrell Powers. After his father death in 1951 he and his mother both moved to Seguin, Texas. He attended school in Seguin and graduated in 1964 from Seguin High School. He then enrolled at Texas AI and graduated in 1969with a Bachelors Degree in Education. He began his professional career in teaching at Bishop High School. He remained there for 30 years teaching, wood working, welding, drafting, and photography. He retired in 1999 and became a full time baby sitter for his grandsons.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife Bernice, his son Michael and daughter Dianne and 3 grandsons Bryan, Jayden, and Carter, all from Bishop.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
at St. John Lutheran Church in Bishop Texas.
