John Chester Fassold, age 78, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born June 14, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Henry Fassold and Florence Ida Hargis Fassold. Mr. Fassold, a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam Era, made his career by serving in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church.
Mr. Fassold was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Fassold Richardson; parents; and four siblings, Charles, Roy, Harrold and Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emilia B. Fassold; three daughters, Melanie Fassold, Marcy Fassold Bernier and Belinda Fassold Fuentes; two sons, Michael Fassold and Mark Fassold; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail will follow at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery in Kingsville.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
