Jo Bareis

Jo Ann Leslie Bareis, born January 21, 1930 in St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away at the Kingsville Nursing and Rehab Center, after a long illness.

Jo Ann was a life-long resident of Kingsville. She graduated from H.M. King High School and married Vernon W. Bareis. During their lives, Jo Ann and Vernon owned and operated several businesses locally: a bowling center during the late 1950s, Motel Carby in the 1960s and L&L Construction Co., an oil field hauling equipment company until the late 1980s. Jo Ann was an avid animal lover, a champion bowler; and, she enjoyed hunting and fishing with Vernon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, C.E. and Frieda Leslie, her brother, J.E. Leslie and her husband, Vernon. Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Kati (Roger) West, two grandchildren, Adrienne West, Evan (Alicia) West and two great grandchildren, Olivia (Wells) Marvel and Owen West, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Thanks goes to the Kingsville Nursing and Rehab facility for their care. Special thanks to Tammi Saenz for the extra love and care given to Jo Ann.

At the deceased's request, there will be no public services.
