Jimmie Garrett

Jimmie L. Garrett, age 82, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 28, 1934 in Greenbrier, Arkansas to William Coy Garrett and Martha Mayo Malone Garrett. He was employed for Kleberg County for 12 years. Afterwards he became a professional truck driver. Mr. Garrett, a U.S. Air Force veteran, was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Garrett; two stepsons, Anthony Whitesell and Jacob Pankratz; parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 31 years of marriage, Joyce J. Garrett of Kingsville; two daughters, Lydia Haywood (Larry) of New Braunfels, Texas and Joann Garrett of Lockhart, Texas; two stepdaughters, Tane Steed (Russell) of Benton, Arkansas and Corrin Miller of Canon City, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Dianne Brown officiating.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
