Jesus G. Rios, born on June 1, 1954, in Kingsville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 70. He dedicated his life to his family, community, and country, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
After proudly serving in the United States Army, Jesus transitioned to a noteworthy career as an aircraft mechanic at CCAD, where he committed twenty years of dedicated service. His work ethic and dedication were evident in every aspect of his life; he was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. Jesus possessed a warmth and kindness that allowed him to connect deeply with people from all walks of life, never having met a stranger. He approached everyone with a welcoming spirit and a genuine smile.
Family was the cornerstone of Jesus’s life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren. The time he shared with his loved ones brought him immense joy and fulfillment. His legacy of devotion to family will be remembered fondly by those left behind.
In addition to his family life, Jesus passionately engaged in various activities and hobbies. He had a love for restoring antique cars, often participating in parades showcasing his prized work. His involvement in his community extended beyond personal interests; he was a long-standing member of the Central Baptist Church, where he regularly volunteered for their food bank. Furthermore, he took pride in his active role with the Native American Lipan Tribe, participating in local presentations at schools and sharing the rich culture and history of his heritage.
Jesus G. Rios will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, dedication, and loving spirit have left lasting memories that will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco G. and Luisa Rios; brother, Francisco G. Rios, Jr.; and sister, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jesus Francisco Rios, Luis Thomas Rios, Maria Magdalena Rios, and Sarah Cook; siblings, Anna Maria (Ernesto) Gonzalez, Delma (Armando) Rios-Salazar, and Maria Teresa (David) Pallanes; grandchildren, Natalia, Brian, Devonte, Destiny, Jayden, J’azmin, Jezbel, Bryanna, Avianna, and Rebekah; great-grandson, Nazareth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a chapel service officiated by Pastor Servando Torres, Jr., of Central Baptist Church, to begin at 1:00 p.m. A rite of committal and interment with military honors will follow at Santa Gertrudes Cemetery.
