Jesse R. Leyba

Jesse R. Leyba, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and educator has gone to be with our Lord and Savior.

Jesse was a kind and loving man that enjoyed teaching his children in the span of his 20-year teaching career.

Jesse was a great musician whose family, friends, students, and co-workers meant the world to him.

There is no doubt that Jesse made an impact on many children’s lives, throughout his educational career.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jose R. Leyba.

Among those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 30 years, Diamantina Leyba and his daughter, Jestine Leyba. In addition, he leaves behind his mother, Rebecca Leyba; his siblings, Yolanda Vilches (Ramiro Barrera), Jose Leyba, Jr., David Leyba (Maria +), Mary Elizabeth (Cliffton) McMillan, Linda Ann (Thomas) Kozar, Terry Diane Leyba, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Honoring Jesse as pallbearers are Adan De La Rosa, Enrique Garcia, Johnathan Garza, Ramon Isassi, Shaun Leyba, Danny Rodriguez.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Turcotte Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary at 7:00 PM. A mass will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 12, 2023. A burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
