Jerry Malin

Jerry D. Malin, age 84, a resident of Riviera, Texas passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas after a brief illness. He was born October 24, 1931 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Hollis H. Malin and Virgie Adkins Malin. Jerry taught 29 years at the Riviera School District. His real love was his family. He had a passion for teaching agriculture to his students. He was friendly, loving, generous, and a great role model for many. He was also a rancher and farmer. Jerry was a U.S Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years of marriage, Margery Elaine Malin; parents; and brother, Darl Malin.
Jerry is survived by two daughters, Denise Malin Tait (John) of Missouri City, Texas and Cherie Malin Emmons of Riviera; one son, Rodney Malin of Riviera; two sisters, Carolyn Bromley of Riviera and Venetia Peach of Old Hickory, Tennessee; one brother, Hollis Malin Jr. of Knoxville, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Kelly Jo and Krissa Lianne Emmons; and three step-grandchildren, Barbara, William and Hilary Tait.
Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Riviera, Texas at Riviera Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
