Jennifer Teresa Mendieta

Jennifer Teresa Mendieta passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the young age of 38.  She was the most precious wife, daughter, sister, and cousin; her heart was full of love, and she was compassionate about her beliefs. Jennifer wanted people to stand up for what they believed in and never give up. She made this world a better place; she impacted everyone who was in it. She loved Carl Sagan and outer space. Jennifer knew there was something bigger than this world and she needed answers; and she is now finding the truth for herself.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Pedro G. and Teresa De La Garza; maternal grandmother, Celia Gamez Garza.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph Mendieta; parents, Pete (Melissa) De La Garza and Debra (Luis) Curiel; siblings, Nora De La Garza, Peter De La Garza, IV., Gilbert (Monica) De La Garza, and Rebeca Curiel; maternal grandfather, Joe Emmett; mother-in-law, Maria Mendieta; brothers-in-law, Orlando Mendieta and Jaime Mendieta; numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 12:30 PM.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM at St. Martin Catholic Church.  Services will conclude after mass.
