Jean Edward Walshe Jr., age 74, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 14, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jean Edward Walshe Sr. and June Louise Saunders Walshe. Jean was a 1960 graduate of H.M. King High School. He attended Texas A&I University and Del Mar College. Jean was a longtime member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 21 years. He was also a member of the Adult Choir and Mason. Jean was the owner and operator of Walshe Comfort Control. Previously he taught at Del Mar College for 25 years and supervised over 300 welders in Louisiana. He was also a firefighter at Kingsville Naval Air Station and firefighter for the city of Corpus Christi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jean is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy E. Walshe of Kingsville; two daughters, Lisa Ann VanFleet (Bruce) of Kingsville and Susan Elizabeth Hearron (Neil) of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Robert Walshe (Teresa) of Corpus Christi and Rev. Timothy Walshe (Brenda) of Kingsville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Public visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 312 West King Street, Kingsville, with Rev. Timothy Walshe, Rev. Ron Earley and Rev. Mell Plunk officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
