Our hearts are full of sorrow as Jean Gerardette Pierce, 57, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in her home, in Bishop, Texas surrounded by her family. She battled cancer since 2011; throughout her fight she remained optimistic, never losing hope or her faith, truly a remarkable person. Jean was born January 19, 1958 in Sealy, Texas to her loving parents, James Bagley Johnston and Dorothy Ann Pavlicek. She was raised in Orange Grove and Agua Dulce, Texas. Jean was employed at Celanese Chemical Plant for 27 years until her retirement. She also proceeded to work at Lawhon Dental for 5 years. Jean was a member of Saint Gertrude's Catholic Church, Kingsville. She was an extraordinary woman, wife, mother and most importantly a friend. She will always be remembered for her kindness, smile and her unconditional love. She was an athlete, who always enjoyed cheering on her children through all their endeavors. Her biggest joy was her grandchildren; they always brightened her day.
Her father James Bagley Johnston precedes Jean in death.
Jean is survived by her mother Dorothy Pavlicek Johnston of Agua Dulce; 3 siblings; Linda (Jay Dee) Browning of Alice, Texas; James Worth (Ruth) Johnston of Orange Grove, Texas and Wade (Karen) Johnston of Cedar Park, Texas. As well as, her loving husband of 14 years, Allen Wayne Pierce Jr. of Bishop, Texas. Her children Leslie (Michael) Ryan of Wading River, New York; Clayton (Michelle) Quinones of Kingsville, Texas; Lindsay (Brett Aguilar) Pierce San Antonio, Texas; Elizabeth Pierce of Bishop, Texas; and Alana (Steve) Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren, Mackenna and Logan Ryan, Clayton Jr. (CJ) , Caden Quinones and Steven and Caden Gonzalez.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday April 1 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, Kingsville, with Father James Stembler as celebrant. Burial will follow in Bishop, Texas at Restland Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers are Clayton Quinones, Wade Johnston, James Worth Johnston and Devin Ruiz.
Pallbearers will be Michael S. Browning, Jeffery D. Browning, Jared W. Johnston, Davey Migura, John Hert, Jeremy Hubble, Chris Bisson and Brett Aguilar.
