Janet Mixon

Janet Mixon, 85. Our beloved wife and mother passed away on September 2, 2018. Janet was born on November 3, 1932 in Edna, TX to John Floyd and Susie Ada Babcock Reeves. She had worked for Celanese for 32 years followed by Texas A&M University Kingsville for 5 years before her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church Kingsville and had played the piano for the church for many years. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and church. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Perry Mixon of Riviera, TX; two children; Brad Mixon (Margie) of Kingsville, TX, Donnal Mixon-Swan (Malcolm) of Palm Springs, CA; two grandchildren, Michael Mixon (Caitlin) and Ryan Mixon; one great-grandchild, Calleigh Grace Mixon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Kingsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and New Century Hospice for providing compassionate care.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Kingsville, Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. following the visitation. Interment will follow at the Riviera Cemetery in Riviera, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BrightFocus Foundation for Alzheimer's disease and macular degeneration research or the music ministry of First Baptist Church Kingsville
