Jane Rogers

Jane Luman Rogers passed away February 14, 2014 at the age of 95. She was born June 13, 1918 in Tiffin, Ohio to Ralph and Mary Luman and grew up in Cumberland, Maryland. She married Eugene F. Rogers June 20, 1942 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Cumberland, Maryland. They moved to Kingsville, Texas in 1945 where Gene worked for Celanese Chemical Corp.

Jane was very active in Epiphany Episcopal Church. She was a member of the adult choir, directed the junior choir for over 40 years, was a member of St. Anns Guild, served on the Vestry and taught Sunday School. Jane was also a member of DAR, Kingsville Music Club and the local Bird Club. She had many hobbies sewing, birding, reading and her art work. Later in life when she could devote more time to her art, she provided illustrations for articles on birds and wildlife for the Kingsville Record and The Jetty, the Port Aransas newspaper.

Jane was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker a job she took great pride in.
She was happy, outgoing, joyful and possessed a kind and loving heart. She will be greatly missed.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband of 48 years, Gene, her three brothers and their wives, William and Jean Luman, Ralph and Wilma Luman, Harry and Alice Luman, sisterinlaw Harriet Rogers Hobaugh and her husband John, and soninlaw William Jarvis.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Mary Lu Jarvis of Oklahoma, son Gene Rogers Barbara Honaker of Kingsville, former daughterinlaw Dollie Gibson, five grandsons Bill Lindy, Jim, Keith Jamie, Matt, and Jonathan Rogers, two granddaughters, Stephanie Burgh and Sandy Poole, seven great grandchildren Wade, Dylan, Ashley, Paige, Will, and Jensen Rogers Robin Montoya Roman and greatgreatgrandsons Nathaniel and Derek.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 27th, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Kingsville, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to Epiphany Episcopal Church, 206 N. 3rd St., Kingsville, Texas.
