James Douglas Williams, a resident of Pleasanton, Texas and former resident of Quitman and Kingsville, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas after battling cancer. Doug was born May 6, 1942 in Kingsville to Joshua and Gladis Williams.
Doug served in the Army in Germany. He was a member of the Masons for many years. Doug was a welder and a pipeline inspector. He had to retire early to take care of his wife. They moved from Quitman, Texas to Pleasanton to be near their daughter.
Doug was preceded in death by his wife Linda; parents; and one sister, Peggy Andrews. Peggy and her husband Bud had two children, Carrie and Buddy Andrews.
Doug was married to Linda for 50 years. They had three children. Their son Jay Williams and wife Karen live in Ganado Texas. They have five children all together. Sean Workman, Jackie Babb, Heston Cantu, Katy Williams and Dean Williams. There first daughter Stacie Morneau and husband Bill live in Pleasanton Texas. They have three children Hunter Grossman, Carson and Sidney Morneau. Second daughter Sherrie Dapkiewicz and husband Brian live in Topeka Kansas. They have three children Brenen, Hanna and Hope Dapkiewicz. Doug also had two great-grandchildren, Trent Willliams and Lily Babb.
Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A private graveside service will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Funeral Military Detail followed by Masonic Services.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
