James "Jimmy" F. Koehler, age 57, passed away on July 11, 2015. Jimmy worked for H & V Equipment. He enjoyed surfing, fishing, baseball and hunting. Jimmy was an 18 year member of a 12 step program, which included a large network of close friends throughout the state of Texas. He also was involved in prison ministry in Duval County for the past 13 years. Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsville where he was active as the Director of the Food Pantry, taught Sunday school, VBS and the men's ministry. Jimmy and Linda raised show pigs. They often donated them to FFA and 4H students that could not afford to buy them, in Kleberg County, San Patricio County and Nueces County. Jimmy had an uplifting spirit, a mischievous smile and mentored many people throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Tommy Morrison.
He is survived by his beloved wife of thirteen years, Linda Koehler; his parents, Al and Dorothy Anchors; his two children from his first marriage, James (Tracey) Koehler IV and Kristel Koehler; two stepchildren, Ray Aney and John Larson; two sisters, Liz (D.R.) Powell and Peggy Andrewcavage; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Kingsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Compassion International or K LOVE radio station.
Arrangements are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville, Texas.
