James Charles Farek, 85, passed away on January 10, 2023. He was born on April 4, 1937, to Joseph and Mary Farek in Kingsville Tx. His favorite pastimes were Astros baseball, Dallas Cowboys football, and TAMUK football. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
He is preceded in his death by his first wife, Mildred Ann McCullough Farek; parents, Joseph and Mary Farek; brothers, Joe Farek, Henry Farek, Bobby Farek, William Farek; sister, Martha Brunson; and great granddaughter, Lydia Anne Whitehurst.
Among those left to cherish his memory is his loving and caring wife of 30 years, Shirley Farek; children, Deborah Whitehurst (Richard), James Farek Jr., Michelle Hall (Raymond), Keith Farek, Kevin Farek, David Farek, and George Farek (Rosie); stepsons, Mike Crisman (Elizabeth) and Scott Crisman (Debbie); grandchildren, Philip Whitehurst (Emily), Matthew Whitehurst (Emily), Amy Estes (Jimmy), John Hall, Sarah Hall, Jonathan Farek, Patrick Farek (Kenna), Nathan Farek; step -grandchildren, Brian Joslin, Michael Crisman, Katlyn Crisman, Kailey Carter, Samantha Crisman and Collin Crisman; 4 great-grandchildren, Shayden Estes, Maci Estes, Kenzie Estes, and Felicity Whitehurst.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Turcotte Piper Mortuary, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be his sons.
