Idolina C. Guerra, age 92, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at her residence. She was born February 18, 1923 in Palito Blanco, Texas to Manuel Cadena and Guadalupe Garcia Cadena. Mrs. Guerra was employed as a cook for Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg until her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Luis Guerra Sr.; parents; seven sisters, Maria Anita Garcia, Carmen Garcia, Domitila Garcia, Diamantina Tamez, Englantina Garcia, Esperanza Lopez and Consuelo Saenz; and one brother, Paulino Cadena.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Garza (Oscar) of Kingsville, Linda Pena (Eligio) of Harlingen, Texas and Doris Cuellar (Wesley) of Kingsville; two sons, Jose Luis Guerra Jr. (Rosa) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Raymundo Guerra (Dolores) of Kingsville; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Thenan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Mrs. Guerra's grandsons will serve as active pallbearers: Jose Luis Guerra III, Jason Guerra, Ramey Guerra, Oscar Garza Jr., Eric Lee Pena and Wes Cuellar.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
