Huey Franklin Mothershed, age 60, a resident of Riviera, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas after a long battle with health issues. He was born September 19, 1956 in Kingsville to Huey "Red" Franklin Mothershed Sr. and Bonnie Jo Morrison Mothershed. Huey studied at A&I University - Kingsville. He made his living as a commercial fisherman. Huey loved playing his guitar and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He was always ready to help a friend in need - no matter what the need was. Huey loved cooking, canning and making sausage from wild hog hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Shirley, Joanne and Mary Jo.
Huey is survived by his wife, Jaime of Riviera; one sister, Vickie (Glen) Quackenbush of Riviera; two stepdaughters, Janel Sonnenberg of Riviera and Billie (Tim) Winter of Cokato, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Illianna and Immanuel, both of Riviera, Joshua, Matthew and Joey of Minnesota; cannines, Hally and Buster "Oldie Man" of Riviera; one nephew, Trey (Kelly) Quackenbush and their children, Jessa and Wiley; one niece, Sandra (James) Davidson and their children, Jase and Dani.
A private gathering with a Celebration of Huey's Life will take place at a later date.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
