Homero P. Garza, 74, of Kingsville, Texas went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 5, 2017. Homero was born on December 31, 1942 to Cruz Garza and Josefa Peña Garza in Kingsville, Texas.
Homero married Josefa Ramirez on March 2, 1963 in Kingsville, Texas. Homero worked for Buddy Walker Furniture Store as a salesman for 15 years. He was also a successful business owner of El Corral Restaurant for 25 years and retired in 2014.
Homero always had a smile on his face and was a very friendly and funny man. He cherished his family and was a great provider for his wife and family, instilling his core values of hard work and self-reliance in his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cruz and Josefa Garza, his two sisters Virgina Saenz, Maria Olga Medina, and one brother Cruz Garza.
Homero leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Josefa; 3 sons, Delfino Garza (Terry), Homero Garza Jr. (Elizabeth) and Rodney Rene Garza (Rose); 11 grandchildren, Delfino Jr., Mark, Andrew, Josie, Leyton, Homero III, John Michael, Nathan, JoMatthew, Rodney Jr. and Robby; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Ovidio (Janie), Octavio (Rosa), Ociel (Diana) and Omar Garza.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
