Henry Grebe Jr., born in Bishop, Texas to Hattie and Henry Grebe on May 31, 1934 peacefully passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in his home after a courageous battle with leukemia. Henry was surrounded by his loving wife, Martha, and close family when he went to be with our Lord.
As a young man, Henry was active in farming, sports, 4H, and FFA. One of his proudest accomplishments was when his steer won the State Grand Champion at the Houston Livestock Show.
Henry, a devout Christian, lead a very successful career in sales. At a young age, he joined the team at K.A. Childs Motors. His career lead him to become General Manager, in which he retired in December 2000.
Henry an active member in his church, as well as his community, enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching, traveling, and spending time with family. Henry was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream
Mr. Grebe was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Corley and granddaughter, Stacey Van Horn.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years of marriage, Martha Grebe of Kingsville two daughters, Michie Foster Wayne of Kingsville and Deborah Mahan Lawrence of Rockport, Texas one son, Richard Wilson Darla of Kingsville one sister, Cora Ferrell of Bishop, Texas seven grandchildren, Jon, Jason, Sarah, Philip, Aarika, Amanda, and Stephen 11 greatgrandchildren, Chloie, Edward, Haiden, Joshua, Jace, Patrick, Jay, Tyler, Cody, Logan, and Olivia.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gary Clements and Pastor Melvin Antonio officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery. Reception will follow the graveside service at Retama Park Fellowship Hall, Kingsville.
Services are entrusted to TurcottePiper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
