Harvey Lee Kampfhenkel of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on April 19, 2016 after a brief hospital stay. He was born on January 7, 1929 to Alfred E. Kampfhenkel and Lillie Riedel Kampfhenkel in Robstown, Texas. He attended school in Driscoll and Robstown. He graduated from Robstown High School in 1946 after which he served his country in the United States Air Force. He studied Drafting and Engineering at Texas A&I College in Kingsville and farmed with his father prior to his thirty-year employment at Celanese Chemical Corporation in Bishop.
Harvey married Louise Koontz Tucker in 1950. Louise was widowed, so he became father to her two children. Together they had two children and worked at having a stable, loving family. They were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bishop. Harvey and Louise were married for 65 years prior to Louise's death four months ago.
Harvey was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruby Hominick. He is survived by his children Ernie Tucker, Sandra Meador, Sharon Ferm and Alfred Kampfhenkel (Tina) and grandchildren John Ginther, Carrie Hruza, Joshua Meador, Jacob Meador, Chris Ferm, Dustin Ferm, Westin Tucker, Kalvin Tucker and Katie Kampfhenkel as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Harvey's favorite pastime was hunting and he enjoyed many years of doing that at the family ranch in Cotulla. He also enjoyed his travels with Louise to Europe, Haiti, Hawaii and points of interest in the U.S.
Viewing will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bishop on April 23 from 10:00 to 11:00 with services immediately following. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery.
