Harold Gene Jeffers passed away on March 26, 2016 at the age of 88 in Yoakum, TX. He was born on December 13, 1927 to George L. Jeffers and Leila Stoker Jeffers at Weatherford, TX.
He graduated from Refugio High School and shortly thereafter; joined the Navy at end of WW II. Upon receiving his honorable discharge he then worked for Humble Oil & Refining Co. at Refugio, TX. There he met and married the love of his life Mary Louise Reid, and they had two sons. In 1959 he settled in Kingsville working at the King Ranch Gas Plant for 41 and a half years. Harold was active at the Church of Christ, Boy Scouts of America, and Little League Baseball.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and telling jokes and playing his harmonica.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise Reid, his sons Randol and Russell Jeffers, his brother James Jeffers and his parents George and Leila Jeffers.
He is survived by his one brother, George (Clara) Jeffers of Victoria; and his grandchildren, Jenny of Oregon, Dustin of Kingsville, Derrick of San Marcos and Delayne of Victoria and 6 great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville TX with Rev. Jim McDoniel. Interment will follow at the Chamberlain Cemetery. Services at entrusted by Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas.
