Gordon Byram

Gordon Hays Byram passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016, at the age of 73 in Riviera, Texas.

Gordon was born to parents Jack and Annabelle Byram (née Johnson) on January 10, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Harlandale High School in 1961. In 1963, Gordon married Edna Evans. They had two sons: Gordon, Jr., and Grady.

Gordon was a long time resident of the Austin, Texas, area where he worked in commercial construction as a Master Electrician. He was heavily involved with and dedicated to the members of the IBEW Local 520 chapter serving as Dispatcher, Assistant Business Manager and Business Manager. Gordon partially retired in 2003 and moved with Edna to Riviera, Texas, where they were beloved members of the community and members of Community Baptist Church. He fully retired in 2005.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Annabelle Byram and his sister JoAnn Steen.

Gordon is survived by his wife Edna Byram (née Evans); son Gordon Byram, Jr.; son Grady Byram, daughter-in-law Stacey and granddaughters Samantha, Lauren and Emily.

Memorial services will be held at IBEW Local Union 520 4818 Ben White Blvd Austin, Texas 78741 on July 30, 2016 at 9 a.m. A private family gathering with cremains will be held at a later date. The family is grateful for condolences, but declines flowers. Any donations can be made in his honor to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
