Gloria Flores

Gloria Flores, 83, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2022. She was born on November 17, 1938, in Benavides, Texas to Encarnacion and Juanita Cantu.

Gloria worked all her life serving other people working retail sales, school cafeteria, and even care giving. No job was ever too big. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Encarnacio and Juanita Cantu; brothers, Juvenal Cantu, and Rey Cantu; sisters, Josefina Walker, Locha Contreras, and Guadalupe Ortega.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Eustorgio “Buddy” Flores; daughter, Judy (Tommy) Thompson; sons, Noe Armando Flores, Andres (Yvonne) Flores and Alberto (Ruby) Flores numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, friends, and caregiver Alicia De La Paz whom she loved very much.

Gloria’s faith in our Lord never faltered. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church. She will always be remembered for the love and passion she poured into not only her family but to anyone she met. Gloria leaves an array of treasured memories which will always be in our hearts. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Turcotte Piper Mortuary. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
