Gladys Bartow

Gladys Waldine Bartow, age 93, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Kingsville. She was born February 8, 1923 in Goliad, Texas to James Walter Pool and Elsie Klump Pool. She was a 1941 graduate of Goliad High School. She worked as a file clerk at Foster Field Air Base, Victoria. Later she was employed for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator. Afterwards she was an apartment manager for Seville Apartments, Kingsville. Mrs. Bartow was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Startzville, Texas and a member of Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W., Canyon Lake, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie O. Bartow; son, Johnnie O. Bartow III; parents; two sisters; and one brother.
Mrs. Bartow is survived by one son, Jimmy L. Bartow and wife Trish of Kingsville; daughter-in-law, Connie Bartow of New Braunfels, Texas; five grandchildren, Shawn Bartow and wife Elizabeth of South Dakota, Brian Bartow and wife Jennie of Canyon Lake, Texas, Ashley Ryan of Burnet, Texas, Tammy Figel of Houston, Texas and Colt Bartow of Kingsville; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, 2951 S. State Hwy. 46, New Braunfels, Texas with Rev. Donald Ofsdahl officiating.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
