Gilbert Cantu

Gilbert M. Cantu, 67, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on August 8, 2020. He entered this world on November 30, 1952, in Kingsville, Tx to Mr. Jose Angel Cantu and Mrs. Sara Medrano Cantu. Gilbert was a retired Security Guard where he manned King Ranch Entrances all over South Texas. His favorite pass time was talking about sports, history, and politics. Gilbert was the ultimate family man, he loved spending time and laughing with his family. He loved drinking coffee, opening gifts, and reading his Bible. Gilbert was a man of Great faith. He was loved by all who met him and had a great sense of humor, he was always laughing and smiling. If Gilbert were here today his message would be to repent, go to Church, pray and read the bible.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Angel Cantu, and Sara Medrano Cantu, Sister - Maria Zarate and Brothers - Fidel Cantu, Angel Cantu, and Larry Cantu.

Gilbert is survived by His Loving Wife of 40 years Dora E Cantu, His Children Brenda (Martin) Chavez, Judy Cantu, Josefat Cantu, Conception Cantu, Elizabeth (Enrique Orta) Cantu. His Brother and Sisters, Ernesto (Sulema) Cantu, Yolanda (Adelmo) Luera, Luciano (Estella) Cantu, and Sister in Law, Alma Cantu. His Grand Children, Clarissa Chavez, Joey Joel Cantu, Issac Davilla, and Alejandro Chavez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12,2020 from 5p.m. - 9p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
