George L. Myers, Jr., age 91, passed away on November 18, 2018. George was born on August 29, 1927, in Washington, D.C., to George L. Myers and Vera Viola Marsh. George retired from the Navy after 22 years and was in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He worked for the King Ranch Saddle Shop and also worked at Texas A&I University at the library and Alumni Association. George was a fan of the Houston Astros, and he also enjoyed watching western and war movies. He sang in the church choir for most of his life.
He is preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara L. Myers.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian Myers, children; Bonnie Whittington, Judy Colston (Bill), Kathryn Seward (Charles), Laura Diaz (Johnny), Melissa Schrimsher (Brett), Cherie Davis (Jim), his grandchildren; Gina Whittington, Hayden and Bowen Schrimsher, Jake Pomaville, Ric Maddox, Marsha Babic, Billy Colston III, and Jeffery McLendon. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren; Scarlett Tashnick, Austin Sanchez, Cole Babic, Grace Babic, Ella Babic, Jacob Colston, Piper Colston, Aria Maddox, and Chloe Maddox.
Memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in Kingsville, Texas, on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at 2:00 P.M.
