It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Francisca De Leon on September 19, 2023. She was born on November 23, 1938, in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico. Francisca had a remarkable life and will forever be remembered for her love, compassion, and commitment to her family.
Francisca married Leonel De Leon in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 25, 1954. In 1969, she and her children attained their visas and made the courageous decision to journey to the United States. They settled in Brownsville, Texas before eventually making their way to Ruskin, Florida.
While residing in Palmetto, Florida, Francisca worked as a migrant worker in the tomato fields and also as a Florist. In 1974, she relocated to Kingsville, Texas where she built a loving community around her.
In 1989, Francisca proudly became a United States citizen and embraced all the opportunities that came with it. Her unwavering determination and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her.
After losing her husband of sixty years in 2014, Francisca moved to Clute on February 14th of that year and has resided there ever since. She embraced her new surroundings with open arms and continued to live life with great joy.
Francisca had many passions throughout her life. She had a love for cooking and would often delight her family with delicious meals. Dancing was another one of Francisca's cherished hobbies. Whether it was at family gatherings or community events, she could always be found twirling on the dance floor, spreading her infectious energy to everyone around her. In addition to her hobbies, Francisca enjoyed indulging in moments of self-care and pampering. She loved going shopping and getting dolled up. Manicures and pedicures with her granddaughters were treasured moments that brought them even closer together. Francisca had an affinity for red lipstick and pearls, which added a touch of elegance to her already radiant presence.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Francisca's personality was her ability to connect with others. Her contagious smile had the power to light up any room, and she had an innate talent for making strangers feel like friends. Her warm heart and welcoming nature will forever be etched in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Francisca is preceded in death by her spouse, Leonel De Leon; parents Luciano and Guadalupe Lozano; and all 8 of her brothers and Sisters. She was the last living family member of the Lozano siblings.
