Florentina Deleon

Florentina Barrera De Leon was granted her angel wings on July 20, 2021. Her final days were spent at home surrounded by so many people that loved her.  Flora (as she was known to family and friends) lived a fulfilling life as she touched so many lives. It was known to many that her home was always open, and her kitchen was never closed; no one could ever say that they left her house hungry (her tamales were famous) or without a big smile on their face. Her quick wit and sometimes dirty jokes were always sure to bring hearty laughter to anyone that had a conversation with her; yet still she possessed the biggest heart anyone could ever imagine. Flora loved her husband and children with every piece of her soul, but she may have loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren even more (and she made that possible). She showed everyone what it was to love unconditionally. Flora will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Locario and Otilia Barrera; brothers, Delio Barrera, Apolonio Barrera, Fidel Barrera, Reynaldo Barrera, Leocardio Barrera, and Raul Barrera; and sisters, Angelita Gonzalez and Consuelo Lopez.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Eloy De Leon; children, Eloy De Leon Jr. (Deborah De Leon), Sylvia De Leon (Manuel Saenz), and Kassandra Garcia (Isaac Garcia); sister, Diana Barrera Guajardo; grandchildren, Eloy Orlando De Leon III, Christian Dylan De Leon, Nickolas Rey Tamez (Lana Tamez), Clarissa Trevino, Abraham Garza, Cynthia Renee Garcia, Kaytlyn Rose Garcia, Cassidy Rehan Garcia, Kristine Rae Garcia, and Cailey Roselynn Garcia; great-grandchildren, Avia Grace De Leon, Nolan Paul De Leon, Amerson Rae Tamez, Carson Daniel De Leon, and Easton Grey De Leon.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 23, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop, Texas.  A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.
