Evelyn Stringer

Evelyn E. Stringer, age 90, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas and a former longtime resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Corpus Christi. She was born August 2, 1924 in Lowell, Massachusetts to Maurice Driscoll and Mary Jane Driscoll. Mrs. Stringer was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Bishop, and attended St. James Catholic Church, Bishop. She was a member of Bishop American Legion Auxiliary.
Evelyn was preceded in death on April 12, 2015 by her husband of 70 years, Eugene W. Stringer; parents; two brothers, Paddy Driscoll and John Driscoll; three sisters, Kay Bowles, Mary Sullivan and Betty Dunn; and nephew, Gerald Sullivan.
Mrs. Stringer is survived by one daughter, Shirley Hendrickson (Larry) of Tyler, Texas; two sons, Ron Stringer (Lynda) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jack Stringer (Eileen) of Point Blank, Texas; four grandchildren, Sonya LaFrance (Warren), Collin Williams, Carrie Stringer and Christopher Stringer; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Clif Abshier and Fr. James Stembler officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
