Evelyn Simank

Evelyn F. Simank, age 97, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas and a former longtime resident of Bishop, Texas passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 in Corpus Christi. She was born September 16, 1920 in Bishop to John H. Frels and Louise Gebert Frels. Evelyn was a 1938 graduate of Bishop High School. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years of marriage, Lesley A. Simank.
Mrs. Simank is survived by one daughter, Nancy S. Price and husband Alan of Tempe, Arizona; two sons, Larry G. Simank of Austin, Texas and Ronald A. Simank and wife Debbie of Corpus Christi; sister-in-law, Dorothy R. Wuensche of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, Colin Price (Lindsay), Ryan Price (Sayaka), Julie Simank, Jessica Simank, Jason Simank, Samantha Simank and Anna Simank; and one great-grandchild, Violet Price.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 East Main Street, Bishop, with Deacon Joel Nye officiating. Burial will follow in Bishop at Restland Cemetery.
