Estanislao Cristian "Taz" Perales

Estanislao Cristian Perales, known to most as Cristian and to some as “Taz”, was born on January 14, 1980, in Corpus Christi to Estanislao Perales and the late Irma L. Perales. He passed away in Kingsville, Texas on February 22, 2025, at the age of 45.

Cristian had a gentle and calming presence, always treating those around him with kindness and respect. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, by making them feel seen. His humor was a bridge that connected him to people. His vast knowledge of movies like Star Wars and Harry Potter, actors, and characters made him the go-to person for any trivia question. During family gatherings, he was the person everyone wanted to be around—the one who filled the room with laughter and warmth. His nieces and nephews looked up to him, drawn to his kindness, humor, and the way he made everyone feel important. Always carrying himself with humility and warmth, he had a sense of humor that fit seamlessly into any room. As much as Cristian was committed to family and friends, he was equally dedicated to serving his hometown Gregory community as a City Councilman.

Cristian was a devoted husband and father, always placing Christina and their children at the heart of his world. He worked hard to provide for them, through his unwavering presence, quiet strength, and deep love. Together, he and Christina built a strong foundation for their family, rooted in dedication and partnership. No matter the pursuit- football, softball, or any passion they followed—Cristian was always there, cheering Rowdy and Frankie on and celebrating their achievements with immense pride.

Cristian was preceded in death by his mother, Irma L. Perales, and his mother-in-law, Noemi Tudon Garza. He is survived by his wife Christina Garza and their beloved children Estanislao Rowdy Perales and Frankie Gabriela Perales. His father, Estanislao Perales, and his siblings, Sergio Perales and wife Laura Perales, Monica Martinez, Anna Jimenez and husband Julian Jimenez, Jennifer Perales and partner Glenn Peterson, Gloria Solis and husband Abel Solis. Cristian is survived by Christina’s family who loved him dearly, his father- in- law Noe Garza and wife Mary Garza, brothers- in- law and sisters-in- law Joseph Benavides, Edward Garza and wife Jennifer Garza, Noe Garza and wife Melissa Garza. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews on both sides who loved and cherished him.

The family will receive condolences Monday March 3, 2025, with visitation from 5pm – 9pm with the rosary starting at 7pm at the Turcotte- Piper Mortuary. The funeral mass is Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10am at St Martins Church with the burial at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery. The reception will follow at St. Martins Parish Hall. Cristian’s passing leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of his wife, children, family, and all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will always remain a part of our lives. When we gather as a family, when we quote a movie, when we share a laugh, Cristian will be there.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, coworkers and the community. Cristian’s family extended far beyond his immediate relatives, his friendships were built through years supporting his children in sports, through the connections he and Christina made in their Kingsville community, and the bonds he formed with his coworkers. All of your heartfelt thoughts, prayers, and generous gestures have brought immense comfort during this difficult time.
