Erika Garza, a cherished daughter, devoted mother, loving sister, and beloved friend passed away on January 11, 2025, in her hometown of Kingsville, Texas. Born on February 7, 1981, Erika brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. No words can ever express the kindness, the love, and compassion she carried in her heart of gold.

With a sunny disposition that could brighten even the stormiest days, she was cheerful and outgoing, always on the go, embodying a spunky attitude that inspired those around her. Erika thrived on spending quality time surrounded by family, filled with warmth and laughter. From the playful tones of her children, Ethan Lukas Albright and Tommy Lee Albright, to the nostalgic beats that made her dance with her cousins to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” every moment spent with her was a treasure shaped by love and joy.

Erika's education began at Rivera High School, followed by her time at Texas A&M Kingsville University, where she built a foundation for her future, prioritizing quality time with her loved ones, fostering strong bonds that will forever remain cherished.

Erika's spirit will forever carry the sweet echoes of cherished moments, from dancing with joy to advocating with love. She had a heart of gold, one she wore proudly on her sleeve. Her kindness radiated brilliance, touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind her cherished sons, Ethan Lukas and Tommy Lee Albright, her devoted mother, Maria (Ramiro) Johnson, and father, Hector D. Garza, as well as her beloved sister, Kristina (Jacob) Hinojosa. She is also remembered fondly by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who shared in her vibrant life.

While Erika’s departure leaves an unfillable void, her legacy continues in the lives of those she nurtured and inspired. She joins her dearly departed paternal grandparents, Estella and Jose Garza, her ama and apa, Francisca and Leonel DeLeon, as well as her cherished aunt, Estella Gonzales, her uncle, Robert Garza, and her beloved pet Pinky. They now embrace her in eternal peace.

A visitation to honor Erika’s life will take place on January 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. This will be followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on January 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Kingsville. The interment will take place immediately after the service at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery, 835 W Caesar Ave, Kingsville, TX 78363.

Erika Garza’s legacy will live on through her family and friends, who will always remember her heart of gold and the joy she brought to their lives. Her beautiful smile, amazing strength, and free spirit will never be forgotten. May she rest in peace, held forever in the embrace of her loved ones.
