With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Enrique G. Medina, affectionately known as Rick, who entered eternal rest on March 19, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1950, in Taft, Texas, to Joe and Elidia Medina.
Rick was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend. He had an incredible gift for making everyone feel welcome, always greeting others with a warm smile. His love language was food—whether it was cooking for family and friends or sharing meals that brought everyone together. He had a passion for traveling, fishing, hunting with his brothers-in-laws, and telling unforgettable stories. To know Rick was to know kindness, love, laughter, and generosity.
Rick began his career at Rainbow Bread Company, working alongside his father. He later dedicated 40 years to Celanese Bishop Facility, where he built a strong work ethic and lifelong friendships before retiring in 2017.
Rick was preceded in death by his beloved parents and leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his cherished wife of 39 years, Sylvia Medina, and his loving children: Celina (Jason) Ramirez of Houston, TX; Natalie (Alonzo) Longoria of New Braunfels, TX; Stephanie (Mathias) Isassi of Kingsville, TX; Richard Medina of Kingsville, TX; Randy (Michelle) Medina of Kingsville, TX; and Roland (Stephanie) Medina of Kingsville, TX. He was a proud grandfather to twenty-two grandchildren and a great-grandfather to nine.
Rick is also survived by his beloved siblings: Joe (Kitty) Medina Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX; Elma (GG) Gonzalez of Spring, TX; and Roy (Dianne) Medina of Kingsville, TX.
The family will receive condolences from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 24th at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary followed by a recitement of the holy rosary at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin Catholic Church the following day, Tuesday, March 25th, at 10:00 AM. Rick's love, laughter, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
