It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emilio B. Garcia, a beloved husband, father, brother, and member of the community, who went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2024. Emilio led a dedicated career working for the City of Kingsville Wastewater Department for 17 years until his well-deserved retirement.
Emilio was born on January 21, 1945, to Domingo B. Garcia, Sr., and Librada Benavides. He began his journey with the City of Kingsville in 1981 as a Plant Helper for the Wastewater Department and diligently worked his way to Pump Operator for the department until his retirement in 1998. In his leisure time, Emilio took pleasure in simple joys - from listening to music and bringing laughter to those around him to cherishing moments with family, hosting BBQs, trying his luck with lottery tickets, and avidly supporting the Dallas Cowboys.
Emilio is now reunited with his parents Domingo B. Garcia, Sr., and Librada Benavides, along with siblings Paula Rodriguez, Benito Garcia, Sally Valdez, Danny Garcia, and Bobby Garcia in eternal peace.
Emilio's legacy lives on through his surviving family and friends. He is deeply missed by his devoted wife of 48 years, Gloria Silvia Garcia; his daughter Annie Sterns (T.P. Torres); and siblings Oralia Gonzalez (Lupe), Rebecca Olivarez, Rosa Guajardo (Juan), Domingo Garcia, Jr. (Anna), Abel Garcia (Gregoria), and Eva Gonzales. Additionally, he leaves behind nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family members.
Services to honor and remember Emilio's life will be held on March 10, 2024. A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. The following day at noon, a mass will take place at St Martin Catholic Church followed by an interment at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
Emilio will forever be remembered for his kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace knowing that he was cherished by many and left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
