Elva G. Rodriguez, 80, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on December 6, 2017. She was born December 31, 1936 to Manuel A. Garza and Angelina Sarabia Garza in Kingsville, Texas.
Elva was a graduate of HM King High School. She was part owner of OJ Electric Company for 50 years. She took pride in several civic and social clubs. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, she was a member of the Gardenia Club, and she was a charter member of the El Dorado Club. Later, she helped organize and start the Red Hat Society of Kingsville.
Everyone who knew her knew that Elva was a very elegant lady who took pride in her appearance. She was a devoted wife who loved to spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Elva is survived by her husband, of 58 years, O.J. Rodriguez; daughter, Angelina Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; son, O.J. (Helen) Rodriguez II of Kingsville, Texas; and 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Devon) Flores, Alyssa Flores, Samantha Rodriguez, Ryan Rodriguez, and David Rodriguez; great-granddaughter Hailey Flores; brother, Willie (Vicky) Garza of Kingsville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
