Elsie Schubert


Elsie Marie Schubert was born on October 16, 1942 near Pearsall, Texas. She was suddenly called to her Savior's side and eternal home on March 19, 2016.
Elsie was the daughter of Gustav Fischer and Dora Weiser Fischer. She was born again into the Kingdom of God through Holy Baptism on December 16, 1942 and confirmed her at St. Peter Lutheran April 14, 1957. She graduated from Pearsall High School and Texas A&I University.
On December 4, 1965 Elsie married Edward Arthur Schubert at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Kingsville Together they enjoyed 37 years of marriage and were blessed with five children: Melissa, Karl, David, Martin, and Emily.
In addition to being a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. Elsie freely shared her time and abilities for the benefit of others. She was a Master Gardener and was involved in a variety of community organizations including 4-H, PTA, AARP, and Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed cooking, baking sewing and woodcraft.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2003parents Gustav and Dora Fischer. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: sisters, Rubina Schroeder and Erna Taff, and brothers, Arthur Fischer and Ewald Fischer and his wife Nancy.
Surviving Elsie and left to carry on her legacy of care are her children; Melissa (Mike) Sulak of Milford, Karl (Noemi) Schubert of Kingsville, David Schubert of Kingsville, Martin (Amanda) Schubert of Riviera ,and Emily (Corey) Holt of Argyle .Elsie leaves five greatly loved grandchildren; Karl Alan, Carter, Allie Emma and Edward. Elsie is further survived by one brother Edgar (Bobbie) Fischer and 15 nieces and nephews along with many other family members and friends.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday March 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Kingsville, Texas with Rev. Michael Buchhorn officiating. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery. In the Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lutheran Hour Ministries at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville, Texas. Services are entrusted by Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas.
