Elsie Martinez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved mother, Elsie Martinez, who gained her wings on December 6, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on July 3, 1959, in Alice, Texas, Elsie made her home in Kingsville, where she filled the lives of those around her with love, laughter, and joy.

Elsie was not only a devoted mother to her cherished children, but also a beloved daughter to her father, Eliseo Saenz, and her mother, Angelina Perez Bailey. Throughout her life, she epitomized the meaning of family—always poised to offer unwavering support and endless love to those she held dear.

A passionate educator, Elsie found immense fulfillment in teaching, sharing her wisdom and kindness with her students. She had a vibrant spirit that drew people in, and her love for the beach and sunshine mirrored the warmth she radiated in her life. Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren, with whom she created timeless memories that will be cherished forever.

Elsie is survived by her loving children, Erica Valadez, Ernest Valadez, Elaine Valadez, Eladio (Tres) Valadez; her siblings Thelma Gray, Sylvia Gonzalez, Noel Saenz, Javier Saenz, Eliseo Saenz, Kerry Bailey, and Brenda Vinton. 

Elsie is welcomed into eternal rest by her father Eliseo Saenz; her mother and stepfather Angelina Perez Bailey and Clayton Bailey; her brother Gilbert Saenz; and her sister Angie Saenz.

Elsie's legacy is one of compassion and celebration. We invite family and friends to join us in honoring her life and celebrating the indelible mark she left on all of us. A memorial ceremony will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, starting at 9am and ending at 1pm. We will gather to share laughter, tears, and stories that highlight the beautiful spirit of our beloved Elsie.

As we grieve the loss of our wonderful mother, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she lived—filled with love, teaching, and unforgettable moments by the sea. Rest in peace, dear Elsie. You will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
