Elmo Loye Gregory, age 84, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born August 6, 1928 in Houston, Texas to George Robert Gregory Sr. and Bessie Barrier Gregory. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict Era, Vietnam Era and Peacetime. After his service to his country, he owned a gas station in Amarillo, Texas. Later he was employed by Groendyke Transport, Enid, Oklahoma. He spent his remaining years providing care for his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
Mr. Gregory was preceded in death in 2010 by his beloved wife, Euteva L. Gregory three brothers, George Robert Bob Gregory, James Richard Dick Gregory and Arthur Paul Gregory sister, Ruby Lois Gregory and one granddaughter, Heather Kay Wright.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Cantu Hipolito J.R. of Kingsville two sisters, Dollie Evelyn Shifflett of Snyder, Texas and Barbara Ann Smith of Coleman, Texas one brother, Charles Leon Gregory of Santa Rosa, Texas three grandchildren, Stephanie Wright, Joseph Wright and Danielle Cantu and greatgrandson, Caleb Wright.
Visitation will take place after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. James Fox officiating and assisted by family members. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Resthaven Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail.
