Elizabeth Crocker Ray, 97, an angel on earth, joined her Heavenly Father Feb. 17th in Pearland, TX.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 31, 1922 in Abbott, TX to Johnnie Mae and Alvin Crocker. She worked for the Kingsville School District and lived a life of service. As a civic minded person she immersed herself in volunteerism by helping the desk at Connor Museum, and by visiting local nursing homes and hospitals. “Beth” received the Jefferson Volunteer Award for community volunteerism in 2004. A member of the 1st BaptistChurch in Kingsville since 1961 and member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 40 years gave her a wonderful spiritual life.
Beth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was predeceased by her husband J W Ray and son Steve Ray. She is survived by her daughter Janet Ray Schonefeld of Tulsa, OK; 3 grandsons, Justin Schonefeld and wife Amber, Casey Schonefeld of Tulsa, OK and Dustin Ray and wife Stephanie of Friendswood, TX, granddaughter; Jaci Crawford, and husband, Daniel of Owasso, Oklahoma. Also, daughter-in-law Frances Ray of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Feb. 22nd at1st Baptist Church of Kingsville. Viewing begins at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 and internment in Chamberlain Cemetery.
Elizabeth Ray’s legacy of love will live in our hearts forever.
