Eliseo Mendez Torres, 88, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1936, in San Nicolas de los Garza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Damas Torres and Porfiria Mendez Torres.
Mr. Torres was the owner of La Famosa DRC Tortilla Factory in Kingsville, which he owned with his wife since 1972. Through the years, he enjoyed serving the community and the surrounding areas as well as supporting student groups through sponsorships and donating products to schools and organizations. He believed success in any business was to provide excellent customer service. After serving the community for 50 years, Mr. Torres retired in 2022.
Mr. Torres is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosita M. Torres and sweet infant great granddaughter, Iliana Azul Aguilar.
He is survived by his five daughters, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren who all loved him and will miss him very much.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church with Fr. Alfredo Villarreal as celebrant. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Corpus Christi. Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martin's Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas, or a charity of your choosing.
