In loving memory of Elisa Aguilar Guerra, a cherished soul who touched the lives of many with her warm heart and kind spirit. Elisa, born on September 2, 1929, departed from this world on April 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will forever be remembered.
Elisa was known for her unwavering devotion to her family, friends and faith. As an avid Atlanta Braves fan, she found joy in cheering for her favorite team alongside her loved ones. Her lively personality radiated kindness, and she had a special talent for making everyone feel welcomed - she never met a stranger. Elisa's culinary skills were legendary among those who had the pleasure of tasting her delicious tortillas. A simple woman with a strong faith, Elisa was an active member of the Guadalupanas, Alter Society, and St. Joseph Spanish Choir at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her outgoing nature and meticulous attention to detail left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Elisa is now reunited with her beloved husband Jose G. Guerra, her parents Guadalupe Aguilar and Emilia Rodriguez, and her siblings Manuel Aguilar, Nelse Aguilar, Sr., and Elida Aguilar. She is survived by her loving children Jose E. (Maria) Guerra, Amalia G. Gayton, and Ricardo (Maggie) Guerra; grandchildren Stephanie Peña (Rudy), Rebekah Guerra, Michael Guerra, Joseph Guerra, and Mateo Guerra; great-grandchildren Haivynn Gamboa, Ace Ryan Peña, Isaiah Michael Guerra; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Services to honor Elisa's life will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary on Sunday, April 14th, with a visitation to begin at 5:00 PM, and a Rosary at 7:00 PM. The following day, April 15th, 2024, a Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, followed by a rite of committal and interment at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
The memories of Elisa will live on forever in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and simplicity. May she rest in peace.
