Elida M. Villarreal, age 85, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2015 with her beloved family at her side. She was born on April 14, 1930 to Cristobal and Carmen Martinez in Kingsville, Texas. Elida retired as a legal secretary for Rayston, Razor, Vickery and Williams Attorney's at Law in Brownsville, Texas. She had been a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brownsville.
She is preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings. Elida is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Gilberto Villarreal; daughter, Rutilde "Tillie" (Gumecindo) Guerrero Jr. and son, Gilbert (Caroline) Villarreal Jr.; grandchildren, Jay Anthony (Trish) Guerrero, Emily Villarreal, Gilbert Tyler Villarreal, and Joshua Isaiah Guerrero; great grandchildren, Haley Berreta Parker, Adelyn Rae Guerrero and Violet Leigh Guerrero; and a dear nephew, Francisco (Griselda) Rodriguez.
Visitation was held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Turcotte Piper Mortuary Chapel. A prayer service was held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will continue at 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Trevino Funeral Home located at 1355 Old Port Isabel Rd. in Brownsville, TX. Visitation will continue at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church Brownsville located on 450 Palm Blvd, Brownsville, TX. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. and interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden Cemetery.
